When to Get New Bras
Last Updated: 06/15/2011

Insurance Questions - Why new bras every year?

The average lifespan of a bra is about six months of daily use. It also depends on the care of the bra, how often you wash them, and how you dry them. Through a year’s time your bra’s elastic becomes looser, the fabric may become thinner or stretched out. In order to support your breast tissue and your prosthesis it should be supportive and still be comfortable. Did you know 80% of women do wear the wrong bra. If your weight has changed, you may need to be re-evaluated for your bra. It’s a new year, you may have several concerns about your insurance and getting new products. You can call us or call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card. Here are some questions you may have for customer service.

1. When does my calendar year begin ? Date of service or calendar year?

2. How many bras (code L8000) am I allowed each year?

3. When can I get a new prosthesis (code L8030 for silicone or L8020 for a fiber/ leisure form)?

4. Do I have to meet a deductible, if so how much is it?
